South African Braai Sauce with Rooibos Tea and Peach blatjang
– excellent to add zing to a potjie or with pork or chicken
Include 2 Packets of 50g Thai Ginger Sauce
AIR-DRIED TO 100g MAKES 400/500g HYDRATED SAUCE
100g (2x 50g packets) + 2 cups (500ml) liquid = serves 4; 50g + 1 cup (250ml) liquid = serves 1 or 2
- Mix contents of 100g packet with 300/400ml strong Rooibos Tea and Sugar to taste. Bring to the boil while stirring.
- Turn down the heat, simmer until the sauce is hydrated - about 5 minutes (50g packet - half Rooibos Tea)
- Water can be used as an alternative to Rooibos Tea
Braai, Rooibos Tea, Peaches & Sunshine – as South African as it gets! We have handmade the tomato sauce and the Chutney to reduce the sugar content, add sugar to taste. This sauce is great as a marinade, as a baste while grilling or served as a sauce with your meat.
